On the first dinner meeting for 2019, our new Chapter President, Taras Mykytyn, discussed the Global Context for Systems Engineering. He centered his talk around the vision for Systems Engineering in 2025 as outlined in INCOSE’s SE Vision 2025. This outstanding (and dare we say, visionary) document explains how the future of Systems Engineering is shaped by the global environment, human and societal needs, policy and business challenges, as well as the technologies that underlying systems. The evolving work environment, following global trends, both constrains and enables the manner in which Systems Engineering is practiced. Mr. Mykytyn explains how the INCOSE Chesapeake Chapter should align to the INCOSE 2025 Vision for its celebratory year of 25 years as an INCOSE chapter and what the Chapter should accomplish during its 25th year anniversary. Partner with Industry, Academia, Research Labs, Government, and Other Disciplines to Advance SE Processes, Tools, and Technology
Establish Multi-Disciplinary Forums to Work Complex Challenges with Fellow Partners, Engineers, Developers, & Managers
Work with Students, Starting at K-12, Undergraduate, and Graduate School to Establish Complex Systems Thinking in the Curriculums
Establish Incubator, Internships, Joint DEV-OPS Environments to Promote Advanced SE Methodologies, Techniques, and Standards
Expand on Training for SE Tools, Certifications, New Research, Advancing AI and Data Analytics, Metrics/Data-Driven/ Model-Based SE
