2019-05-15: Thinking: A Guide Book for Systems Engineering Problem-Solving
Date: Wednesday, 15 May 2019
Topic: Thinking: A Guide Book for Systems Engineering Problem-Solving
Speaker: Dr. Howard Eisner - an author of nine SE books, Life Fellow of the IEEE and a Fellow of INCOSE and the New York Academy of Sciences
Dr. Howard Eisner presented an overview on his new book “Thinking: a Guide Book for Systems Engineering Problem-Solving” by using just 7 slides. He explained some 15 new ways of thinking and applications to systems engineering, including: Inductive Thinking, Deductive Thinking, Reductionist Thinking, Out-of-the-Box Thinking, Systems Thinking, Design Thinking, Disruptive Thinking, Lateral Thinking, Critical Thinking, Fast and Slow Thinking, and Breakthrough Thinking. He explained how, with these thinking skills, the systems engineer can be better able to tackle and solve new and varied types of problems.
We raffled off the book - Creating Cultures of Thinking: The 8 Forces We Must Master to Truly Transform Our Schools, but Dr. Eisner also offered to raffle off his new book: Thinking: A Guide to Systems Engineering Problem-Solving. He also provided a discount code <Click here for the discount sheet> for those interested in buying the book from CRC Press.
