Abstract:
A system's engineer's retrospection of lessons to be shared with a future generation.
Dr. Eisner has spent a lifetime of practice in the field of systems engineering. This lecture will provide a "look back" over his 50-year career with his advice offered to the future generation of Systems Engineers. Discussed will be his top lessons learned through his experiences in working with a variety of companies and projects. Expect to hear many practical insights useful to the day-to-day work of systems engineers and also those in related engineering fields.
Speaker:
Dr. Howard Eisner spent 30 years in industry and 24 years in academia. In the former, he was a working engineer, manager, executive and president of two high-tech companies. In academia, he was a professor of engineering management and distinguished research professor at The George Washington University (GWU), where he taught courses in systems engineering, technical enterprises, project management, modulation and noise, and information theory. Since 2013 he has served as professor emeritus at GWU. He has written nine books that relate to engineering, systems and management.
